There’s Always Something New to Try
I’ve always loved to bake. Simple yet delicious treats are my jam. Whenever we travel, I love visiting all of the bakeries to try what they have. But when my husband learned he has Celiac disease, baking became a whole new challenge. Visiting bakeries lost some of the fun. Because even though he said he didn’t mind not getting to sample the treats, it’s not fun eating something yummy in front of someone who can’t have it.
So, I decided there had to be a solution, and I learned how to make my own gluten free flour blends and tweak the recipes so they tasted just as good as the gluten filled variety. Because often, gluten free bakery items are dry, tasteless or have a weird texture.
But then I realized there were a whole lot of other people who had the same problem–allergies that were preventing them from enjoying delicious treats along with everyone else. They couldn’t visit bakeries and have all the yummy things either. Sometimes there’s one or two options, but that’s about it.
That’s when Gathered was born. A bakery where people needing items free of common allergens or other special dietary needs would have lots of options and be able to enjoy dessert all together.
Every item is always gluten free. Some items are dairy free, nut free, soy free, low sugar, paleo, vegan and keto.
